Yes, the "Baby Name Survey Book" by Bruce Lansky is probably it. I bought it under its previous title, "Baby Name Personality Survey" and thought it was spot on for most of the names. I would assume with this update that it has improved its accuracy even more -- though I notice that it's still a 1998 book, so it's almost ten years old noq, which means that the survey data is going to be even older than that. Times change. I met a little girl named Ursula the other day. She's not Swedish, either.

Here's a link to the book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0671023853/24680e-20

Good luck!

I am pregnant, too. My husband and I were married in Vegas.so we thought a name that reminded us of your union and relationship would be good..... we came up with Sahara since we stayed at the Sahara Hotel in Vegas during our honeymoon......maybe that will help your sister come up with names that reflect her and her husband...... We are going to use Sahara as a middle name since we now know it's a girl. Here were all my choices:
1. Charlotte ( Charley for short)
2. Lila
3. Darla

1. Jayden or Braydon
2. Brandon
3. Joseph

I have an obsession with names and own almost every baby naming book on the market. I was SO excited when babynames.com came out with their own book! However, now that I am pregnant and looking for a certain gender name, I was highly disappointed that the book doesn't have different sections for different genders. I have to read all the boy names to find the girl name that I like. This makes it very difficault and honestly, I havn't used the book at all throughout this pregnancy because of this.

Before I was pregnant and I was just reading names for a hobby; I lovedd this book. It gave great advice and comments on each name and I really enjoyed it...but it just doesn't work when you are actually trying to find a name for your child.
