Where the Wild Things Are

October 12th 2009 in General

Where the Wild Things Are Did you like Where the Wild Things Are? Was it a little too old for your kids? The book is geared to very young kids and the movie is fantastic but might appeal more to older kids and adults. So let the kids see the movie but come home and read the book. If your kids are like mine were at a young age, the ”Where the Wild Things Are” book will be read over and over. Original Source

In this remake of the classic children’s story by Maurice Sendak. Director Spike Jonze teams up with writer Dave Eggers to bring this tale to life.

Max (Maxwell Records) is a free spirited boy who’s imagination takes him on a wonderful journey to an island across the ocean where Max convinces the Wild Things on the Island that he is their King.

The movie received some critixism for being to violent and scary for it targeted audience of children. It also received a lot of praise for it’s originality and adaptation.

I believe the movie is very appropriate for some children, but parents should use caution when showing this version of the movie to younger children. I would say not suitable for anyone under 10-12 depending on how mature they are.

There are some very disturbing images in this version of the movie that would scare young children a lot.

Get this and watch it with your children, or perhaps watch it first by yourself and decide if your children should see it or not.
