My son is 12 months old and eating fimger foods as well as still getting spoon fed by us. He’s not terribly messy, but the pocket on this bib catches most of the things that don’t quite make it to his mouth. It’s a clear pocket which is nice for cleaning. That’s about the only good function this bib has.

After the first hand washing in the sink (the care instructions say not to machine wash), the edges of the bib along the shoulders curled under, making the functioning protective area of the bib even smaller (I found that it might be on the small side for my son at this age – it’s a bit short on him and doesn’t stay tucked under the high chair tray while he eats).

After the second hand washing, the protective coating started separating feom fabric. I don’t mind hand washing bibs, but the durability really needs to withstand a large number of hand washings, not fall apart after the first use. I have a Bumkins bib (http://www.amazon.com/Bumkins-Finer-Baby-Products-Assortment/dp/B000UE6U1O/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1246131975&sr=8-7) which has been the absolute best bib we’ve ever used. I’m going back to them and tossing this one out.

As a nanny and a mom, I’ve used lots of different types of bibs. This brand ranks among my favs for it’’s easy clean-up as well as quality! It is very comfortable (no scratches on my baby’s neck from misplaced velcro strips) and couldn’t be cuter. I’ll definitely be buying more!!

I bought this bib thinking that it would help with catching food etc when my one year old eats, but the plastic covering on the material started separating after the first HANDWASH! not even putting it in a dishwasher etc!!!! This product does not hold up….i am now looking for another pocket bib…don’t waste your money!
