I highly recommend BabyCenter.com for any of your baby purchases. We got our name brand crib and changing table for 1/3 of the price that Babies R Us and local baby stores are charging. We also bkught our mattress, changing pad, changing pad covers, and a crib toy there.

And, BabyCenter frequently has sales or your can look on goofle for tons of coupon codes.

the essentials that i wished i bought EARLIER?
cloth diapers (1sized pocket diapers to be exact),
coz i only started using these much later....could have saved us tons of $$$ on disposables!

Another 1 would be those double-layered cloth wipes (NON disposables), i have tried a few, fave is zherpa & FLANNEL layered ones by Cattail F**** (well made).

***The above 2 items saved us a lot of $$$ for our 2 girls already, and i love using them....really...

Other items i still cannot live without, till now @ 7mths postpartum:
*PISA breastpump: am exclusively pumping for my 2nd girl.
*a good n decent n chic diaper bag (you will need this a lot)
*a proper changing pad (the type that can keep diaper, wipes, diaper cream in it)
*an electric steam sterilizer
*a hotpot (for quick supply of hot boiling water to warm up ebm n etc)

Ok, the items i wished i didnt waste $$$ on:
a) BUMBO: coz both my girls tried to 'squeeze' out of it by 4mths old! somehow, they just hated it...hehe...
b) Expensive Fisher P rocker chairs, 2nd baby girl keeps flipping over in it and refused to stay reclined!
c) polycarbonate baby feeding bottles (and feeding bowls or equivalent) ***am now shifting to safer plastics for my entire family:)
d) n yes, baby clothings in NEWBORN sizes....they outgrew theirs faster than my money is earned, LOL!
e) 1piece baby sling: somehow....i found that not all babies love to be slung that way.....mine loves it in HIP HAMMOCK, but not 1piece sling....dunno y!
