We had springs on the bottom of my son’s crib for the first 11 months. The only reason we took them off was because we needed to be able to slide the crib away from the wall during the day. My parents kept the springs they had used on my crib ( I am 38) The springs were put in place of the wheels. Needless to say, I can’t tell you where to get them. The springs were very safe and were not some crutch for the child to fall asleep with. We were able to gently rock the crib at times and my son could bounce a little as he was learning to stand. I thought they were useful.
